Our History
Michael's Restaurant has been run by the same family for more than 40 years.
Charles and Theresa Nikitas - the original owners of Pappa Charlie's Deli and
Michael's Sandwich Shoppe on Spring Street - established Michael's Restaurant
as an A&W Root Beer stand. Cindy and Michael Nikitas grew up helping out in
the kitchen and eventually became third-generation restaurant owners themselves.
When Pappa Charlie and Theresa retired to Florida, Michael used the building to
open "Michael's" in 1984. Cindy bought the restaurant from her brother in 1991
and in January 2000, they joined together to continue their family's long and
successful business. Cindy Nikitas currently owns and operates the restaurant
as the chef-owner, preparing most of the menu items from scratch.
